On Mount Arqub, overlooking the Zin Valley in the Negev desert, countless Tumuli dot the landscape. These Tumuli are characterized by their circular stone structures and are believed to have served as burial grounds for nomadic shepherds between the third and sixth millennia BCE.While only some of the investigated Tumuli have contained burial chambers with human skeletons, it remains a mystery whether the bones of the others were moved to another location, the graves were looted, or if the stone structures were used for ritual purposes other than burial.Local Bedouins in the area recount tales of mysterious occurrences within these ancient burial sites. Sound artist Niv Gafni and landscape archaeologist Eli Sasson-Cohen convene on the mountain to study the Tumuli and conduct a series of recordings to unravel the enigma.
